Omah Gamelan was founded in April 2015 by a notary deed number 11, on April 17, 2015, and officially opened by the Regent of Bantul on April 18, 2015, with an address at Jl. Ndawetan-Paker, Kaloran, Prenggan Hamlet RT 06, Sidomulyo, Bambanglipuro, Bantul, Special Region of Yogyakarta.
Omah Gamelan is living proof that traditional arts are still able to enthrall today’s audiences. Starting as a karawitan (traditional Javanese ensemble) community made up of local residents, we have since grown into a cultural arts center facilitating various art forms, including karawitan, dance, and other traditional arts appreciated by a wide audience, including foreign nationals.
